Our Humble Roots
In 1988, only four years after leaving South Africa, husband and wife team Andre and Cheryl Bezuidenhout began Picnikins—even though they had no food service experience whatsoever.
Andre was a builder by trade, and Cheryl a pianist and mother of two young boys. Forced to make a career change, the duo opened a deli with the idea of providing local professionals with a fresh, quick and affordable lunch that was easy to transport and eat.
They quickly gained a great reputation for the quality and freshness of the food and for the friendly service from "the sweetest people with the coolest accents."
Fast Forward: Picnikins Today
Our excellent customer service has never failed us. After the success we had with our deli, we decided to offer catering and delivery services, and those garnered the same response.
We now have two indoor/outdoor locations in San Antonio called Picnikins Patio Cafe where you can dine-in or take-out. We are also proud to offer everyday catering for lunch.
